The person behind the art
Welcome to my corner of the internet.
My name is Majken Steensgaard Hutflesz but most people call me (mo)Squito.
Here you’ll find a big collection of different works; paintings, collages, installations and much more.
As of right now, the topics of my art include gender, queer, internet culture, relations, perception of the world around us – our selves – and each other.
I like to be experimental with my art – to mix different media and make “trash art” and experiment with the different materials to see where they take me, as well as trying to gain new skills from handling the materials, it is exciting to learn a new craft, f.x. carpenter work or welding.
This website works as a form of digital portifolio, resume and blog, my best art-works gets published here and my experience with different work and such. If you’re interested in seeing more varied art and everyday posts, go check out my Cara.
If you want to talk business, reach out to me on mail or LinkedIn.
You can see my commission prices here.

A bit about me;
I am a 22 year old young artist, am queer and uses they/them pronouns.
I have been making art since I can remember, and have never stopped.
I have the privilege of having very supportive parents, which means I’ve had the opportunity to attend different youth art clubs, art-camps, courses and educations.
Artists who inspire me immensely as of right now is Marie Rosendahl Chemnitz – specifically her exhibition “Der er nogen der har drømt af mit hus” (There is someone that has dreamed of my house) – it made a big impact on me as a child.
The other artist is Jonas Liveröd and his way of being “unfaithful with materials” as he has been prone to say – he has a very fascinating way of mixing materials, and the topics he revolves his art around is very intriguing.
I don’t have a drivers license since I always live close to public transport, plus it being the better choice regarding environment, as well as just being more cosy in my personal opinion.
I like making different dishes in the kitchen, especially asian- and mexican foods, trying recipes I find in magazines or on SoMe is also part of the fun.
I don’t like coffee, but love a cocktail of Cocio and coffee & milk 100 arabica latte macchiato®
One of my favorit spare time activities right now, is to go to the library and read up on different topics and make reports of them. Seaweed and sutur is what I’m reading/writing about currently.
Music I love listening to is from the era of 2000 – 2010 (Lady gaga, Brittney spears, Mr. Worldwide, PSY etc.) and techno music (House, Dubstep, Remix etc.)
Aside from art have I always been a gamer-nerd, some titles I can recommend; Myst, Quern, Nevermind, Breath Of The Wild & Tears Of The Kingdom, Just Dance.
Board games are not out of the picture however, some games I can recommend; Skipbo, Risk, Chess.
I have a big love for DVD’s and CD’s.
I am not a big fan of Streaming services and how anxious one can get about, if a show is deleted from the platform or if they even have a specific movie in stock.
At home is a ghettoblaster which has been with me since childhood, I love to put on a CD and have it play as I do something, make food for example.
Trash is what I collect, I collect beasicly anything; pieces of porcelain, tiles, rusty objects from the sideway, ruined glasses, cut hair, plastic toys and tiny gizmos, busted electronics, receipts and other old paper. Yeah, it’s a long list.
